What You Need To Start
Single Pull Truck Requirements
- 3/4 or 1-Ton Truck – No SUV’s or vans.
- Trucks older than 10 model years require approval.
- No short beds (unless you have a sliding fifth wheel hitch or equivalent).
- Trucks must be registered for 26,000 lbs. Registration must be in the driver’s name, if not, we require a notarized Power of Attorney or lease agreement (a bill of sale is not acceptable).
- Current DOT Inspection Certificate – Must be completed by a verifiable DOT Certified Mechanic.
- All windshields and front windows must allow 70% light or more through. All windows will be checked for compliance at orientation, windows registering lower than 70% will need to have the tinting removed prior to dispatch.
- Class IV or V receiver with a 2” ball with a steel shaft rated at least 5,000 lbs., and a 2 5/16” ball with solid steel shaft rated at least 10,000 lbs. (must be between 20-22″ from the ground).
- Digital trailer brake control.
- 7-way electric lug at the bumper.
- Full-wheel mud flaps at the rear tires measuring no higher than 6” from the ground.
- Extended side mirrors that accommodate 102” trailers.
- Three (3) DOT approved reflective triangles.
- Fire extinguisher must be securely mounted with gauge facing outward and reading in the green, and located so that it is easily accessible for use.
- 12-volt marine grade “wet” break-away battery with box and lid.
- At least one spare fuse for each type and size of fuse needed to power the equipment.
- Torque wrench with 3/4 – 13/16 and 7/8 deep well sockets (6” extension rod, recommended).
- Zip ties or equivalent to attach the INTransport issued transport license plate to the camper.
- Auxiliary Transfer Tanks are allowed but must be less than or equal to 119 Gallons in size.
Highly Recommended Equipment
- Fifth Wheel Hitch rated at least 16,000 lbs.
- Goose Neck Adapter for a fifth Wheel Hitch
- Pintle Hook
- Additional Break-Away Cable
- Carabiners (Chain Extenders)
- Weight Distribution Bars
- Tire Chains – Certain Western states and Canadian provinces require the possession of tire chains from the Fall thru early Spring months.
- General cleaning products: Magic Eraser, Awesome Cleaner, rag/paper towels, etc.
- Telescoping Mirror (to check units for roof damage)
Vehicle Insurance Requirements
- All policies must be bound through an INTransport’s approved Insurance Provider.
- Commercial Unladen Insurance with at least $500,000 liability limit.
- Commercial Physical Damage Coverage for the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the vehicle.
- No personal or secondary policies will be accepted.
Multi-Haul Truck Requirements
- Class 5-8 Vehicle.
- Truck and hauled Trailer combination should be no more than 65 ft. in length.
- Winch must be rated at a minimum of 10,000 lbs.
- Vehicles must have a 10,000 lbs. rated rear hitch with center rail and sliding ramps.
- Current DOT Inspection Certificate – Must be completed by a verifiable DOT Certified Mechanic.
- All windshields and front windows must allow 70% light or more through. All windows will be checked for compliance at orientation, windows registering lower than 70% will need to have the tinting removed prior to dispatch.
- Digital trailer brake control.

- Truck and Trailer combination should be no more than 75 ft. in length.
- Trailers should not exceed 53 ft. in length.
- Step Deck Trailers should measure less than 54″ from the Top Deck to the ground and less than 3 ft from the Lower Deck above rear axle(s) to the ground.
- Trailers should not exceed 102″ in width.
- Trailers must attach to the Truck by fifth wheel hook up.
- No gooseneck trailers will be permitted.
- Trailers must be equipped with a 10,000 lbs. winch, 3 ft. stinger extension at the front of the trailer, center rail, sliding ramps, and dovetail.
- Current DOT Inspection Certificate – Must be completed by a verifiable DOT Certified Mechanic.
- All windshields and front windows must allow 70% light or more through. All windows will be checked for compliance at orientation, windows registering lower than 70% will need to have the tinting removed prior to dispatch.
- Digital trailer brake control.
- Full-wheel mud flaps at the rear tires measuring no higher than 6” from the ground.
- Reflective markings must be present on the bottom of mud flaps as well as on the top of the rear of the Trailer.
- Cargo Securement Components.
- Tiedowns, straps, chains, and/or ropes (must be in good working condition, free from damaged/weakened areas that could hinder performance).
